Abstract

Tidak semua gerakan nonverbal dapat disebut bahasa nonverbal. Gerakan yang disebut bahasa nonverbal adalah gerakan yang digunakan untuk mengungkapkan makna pragmatik penutur. Bahasa nonverbal dibedakan menjadi dua, yaitu bahasa nonverbal dinamis dan bahasa nonverbal statis. Bahasa nonverbal dinamis adalah gerakan tubuh beserta bagian-bagiannya atau anggota tubuh lain yang digunakan untuk mengungkapkan makna pragmatik penutur. Bahasa nonverbal statis adalah bahasa nonverbal yang tidak digerakkan untuk mengungkapkan makna pragmatik penutur tetapi dapat dipersepsi oleh mitra tutur sebagai bagian dari bahasa nonverbal. Artikel ini mengkaji wujud dan makna pragmatik bahasa nonverbal menggunakan pendekatan etnopragmatik. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan nara sumber, dan observasi pengalaman hidup sehari-hari sebagai bagian dari warga masyarakat Indonesia. Data yang ditemukan kemudian dideskripsikan berdasarkan wujud dan makna pragmatik pemakaian bahasa nonverbal dalam komunikasi. Kata kunci: bahasa nonverbal, etnopragmatik, wujud, dan makna pragmatik. AbstractNot all nonverbal movements can be called nonverbal languages. Movement called nonverbal language is a movement that is used to express the meaning of pragmatic speakers. Nonverbal languages are divided into two, namely dynamic nonverbal language and static nonverbal language. Dynamic nonverbal language is the movement of the body along with its parts or other members of the body that are used to express the meaning of the speaker's pragmatics. Static nonverbal language is a nonverbal language that is not moved to express the meaning of the pragmatic speaker but can be perceived by the speech partner as part of nonverbal language. This article examines the form and meaning of nonverbal pragmatics using the ethnopragmatic approach. Data is collected through observation of daily life experiences as part of Indonesian citizens. The data found is then described based on the form and meaning of the pragmatic use of nonverbal language in communication.

Abstract

AbstractThis research focuses on the description of local wisdom values contained in the traditional children’s games based on the local Javanese culture. The locational research data source was the Javanese children living in a Javanese community, especially those living in Yogyakarta. The substantive data was the local wisdom values presumably contained in the traditional children’s games. The data was gathered using the observation method, namely by observing texts of traditional children’s games available during the research timeline. The technique used to apply the observation method was recording and note-taking techniques. Besides the observation method, speaking or interviewing methods were also applied. Interview was conducted to several experts who understand the local wisdom values contained in the Javanese traditional children’s games. In addition, the interview was conducted to children who play the traditional children’s games. Data analysis was carried out using distributional and content analysis methods. Then, the local wisdom values were found in this research were: (1) Solidarity; (2) Balance; (3) Synergy; (4) Sportsmanship; (5) Agility and Resilience; (6) Agility and Precision; (7) Obedience to Norms; (8) Affection; (9) Agility and Fighting Spirit; (10) Creativity and Adaptability; (11) Creative Imagination; (12) Acceptance to Facts of Life; (13) Fulfilling the Destiny; (14) Obedience and Discipline; (15) Intelligence Test; (16) Synergy and Collaboration. The local wisdom values found in the traditional children’s games are: (a) Jejamuran, (b) Umbul Gambar, (c) Egrang, (d) Sunda Manda,  (e) Gobak Sodor, (f) Cublak-Cublak Suweng, (g) Delikan, (h) Biyok, (i) Nekeran, (j) Yeye. Keywords: Local wisdom; traditional children’s games; ecolinguistic perspective

Abstract

AbstractThe emergence of social media as a new channel of communication has produced a new form discourse which has different characteristics compared to the formerly established conventional discourses. These differences do not only lie in how the messages are delivered but also in their  structural components which contribute to the unity of the text, namely cohesion and coherence. Cohesion, as the marker of coherence, is realized by language units (words, phrases, or clauses) known as cohesive markers which indicate the relationship between parts of discourse either grammatically or lexically. This article aims at describing the composition and distribution of  cohesive markers within the Facebook conversations along with their roles in determining the characteristics of the discourse. The results show that the cohesive system of Facebook conversations are dominated by references, ellipses, repetitions, and conjunctions. The frequent appearances of certain referential cohesivemarkers indicate Facebook conversations as typical of interactive discourse whereas numerous ellipses and particular conjunctionsreflectthe informal mode of communication carried out through the social media.On the other hand, various repetitions show the existence of topical cohesionwithin the conversations.

Abstract

Abstrak Sapaan Anda merupakan sapaan yang direkayasa untuk berpadanan dengan sapaan you yang egaliter dalam bahasa Inggris. Idealnya, ranah akademis yang egaliter menggunakan sapaan Anda sebagai sapaan egaliter. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui gambaran penggunaan sapaan Anda yang egaliter pada ranah akademik dengan mendeskripsikan penggunaan sapaan Anda setelah perekayasaannya, penggunaan sapaan Anda dalam pola sapaan pada ranah akademik termutakhir, dan faktor bahasa ibu yang memengaruhi penggunaan sapaan Anda. Dengan kampus dan pertemuan ilmiah sebagai tempat sumber penyediaan data dan dengan menghubungbandingkan data untuk membangun pola penggunaan sapaan Anda dalam ranah akademik, diketahui bahwa pada ranah akademik, sapaan Anda hanya dapat ditujukan kepada mitra tutur yang (1) status jabatannya lebih rendah, berusia lebih muda, dan tidak dikenal; (2)  status jabatannya lebih rendah, berusia lebih muda, dan dikenal; (3) status jabatannya lebih rendah, berusia sama atau lebih tua, dan tidak dikenal; (4) status jabatannya sama, berusia lebih muda atau seusia, dan tidak dikenal.Kata Kunci: sapaan, Anda, egaliter,  ranah akademikAbstactAddress term Anda is an engineered term of address as equal as an egalitarian English term of address you. Ideally, an egalitarian academic domain uses address term Anda as an egalitarian term of address. This study aims to describe the use of egalitarian address term Anda in the academic domain by describing the use of address term Anda after engineering, the use of address term Anda in the term of address pattern in the latest academic domain, and mother tongue factors that influence the uses of address term Anda. By using campus and scientific meetings as a source of data provision and by connecting data to build patterns of use of your greeting in the academic domain, it can be concluded that address term Anda can only be addressed to the collocutor(s) who (1) has a lower status, younger, and unknown; (2) the position status is lower, younger, and known; (3) the position status is lower, same age or older, and unknown; (4) the position status is the same, younger or same age, and unknown.

Abstract

This research aims to discover the ideology of the translator in translating taboo words in 22 Jump Street movie by doing qualitative research. In order to determine the idology, the researcher follows some steps that are collecting linguistics data by using criterion-based sampling technique to find out the taboo words and their categories, and then collecting translation data by using content analysis to figure out translation technique used by the translator therefore the idology will be able to determine. The result of this research discovers that the ideology of the translator is domestication determined from the tendency of translator to delete taboo words in his translation and to find the equivalence of taboo words in target language at the same time.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to identify the translation techniques which are used to translate utterances containing sexist attitudes on men and women characters in Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk Novel. The researcher also aims to find the translation shift that occured as a result of the translation techniques usage. To analyze the data, the researcher used some analysis steps: taxonomy analysis, componential analysis, and the cultural value analysis. The result shows that there are 14 techniques found. The translator tends to use established equivalent for both men and women characters. Discursive creation and transposition produced translation shift. Abstract

Anak tunarungu sebagian besar, menggunakan bahasa isyarat sebagai bahasa pertama mereka. Di sisi lain, mereka diharuskan mampu menulis dengan baik dan benar untuk mampu berkomunikasi dalam proses pembelajaran, baik komunikasi dengan guru maupun sesama teman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan anak-anak tunarungu di tataran paragraf, khususnya dalam menulis narasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 37 siswa kelas 2 sampai kelas 6 SDLB YPTB Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan dua instrumen: (1) film bisu The Pear Story ‘kisah buah pir’ yang digunakan untuk memancing subjek untuk menarasikan apa yang telah dilihat, dan menuliskan film tersebut dalam bentuk paragraf narasi, (2) narrative scoring guidelines ‘panduan penilaian narasi’ yang mengukur keterampilan narasi pada tingkat mikro struktur meliputi kohesi naratif, kohesi referensial, penggunaan konjungsi, pembentukan kata-kata gramatikal, dan piranti-piranti naratif. Harapannya hasil penelitian ini mampu mengungkap ketimpangan penelitian yang masih belum tergali dan mampu memberikan kontribusi dalam peningkatan literasi siswa Tuli.
